Professor Mitch Duncan is the Physical Activity Research Lead for the NEW1000 Study.
His research explores the role of physical activity and sleep behaviors as joint influences of health outcomes including obesity, cardiovascular disease risk, diabetes, and mental health.
Professor Duncan will use information from NEW1000 families to better understand how physical activity and sleep work together to influence multiple long-term health outcomes.
Throughout his career, Professor Duncan has been awarded the National Heart Foundation Queensland Researcher of the Year and the Australian Institute of Policy & Science Queensland Young Tall Poppy Award.
