Professor Maralyn Foureur
Professor Maralyn Fourear is a member if the NEW1000 Executive Board and Research Lead for Nursing and Midwifery.
Professor Foureur is an experienced midwife clinician, academic, and researcher with over 30 years of experience in conducting maternity services research. Her major areas of interest are in models of maternity care and the design of birth environments.
She has been an investigator on numerous NHMRC, ARC, and other competitive research grants and has published nearly 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and book chapters.Her contribution to the NEW1000 study will be in developing a model of continuity of midwifery care and lactation support that aims to increase the uptake and length of breastfeeding for women enrolled in the NEW1000 cohort.
