Participant Testimonials
We’re so honoured to have had hundreds of amazing women and families participate in the NEW1000 Study to date. Read some of our beautiful participant testimonials below.
Henry was born 38+2, healthy and the perfect final addition to our little family.
We have been so thankful to be part of the NEW1000 study.
The extra scans (special thanks to Candice for going the extra mile and always printing extra copies for one very proud big sister) and support we received throughout the whole process was amazing especially due to a previous preterm birth and several miscarriages. It was great to look into causes of preterm birth that we were completely unaware of and went unmonitored with my first - including a shortened cervix, and polyhydramnios. It was so reassuring to see our little man grow! My husband was lucky enough to be able to attend scans during a period where many missed out.
The New1000 team are all so welcoming (especially during the whole COVID period) and knowledgeable. Hopefully our participation in the study helps future families have better understanding of health and well-being for themselves and their littles.

“It’s been such a privilege to be a part of the New1000 pregnancy study through the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI)
Isla has been a participant of this study for quite some time now - since she was a little 12 week jellybean in the womb to be exact.
The study follows babies throughout the first 1000 days of their life and how those days can impact health and well-being throughout their lives.
Isla was one of the first participants to join the study which has now attracted approximately 500 families to join as well.
All in the name of Science!”

“Thanks to the ladies at the NEW100 picking up on a dynamic incompetent cervix at 21 weeks, we had a cervical stitch placed and removed and made it to 38.4 weeks.”
