Dr Melinda Hutchesson is a part of the Nutrition Research Team for the NEW1000 Study.
She is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Health Sciences (Nutrition and Dietetics).
Her research focuses on developing and evaluating health behaviour interventions to prevent unhealthy weight gain, and non-communicable disease, and promote mental health and well-being. She is particularly interested in interventions that can be delivered through inexpensive devices with a wide reach, such as mobile phone applications and websites. Dr Hutchesson’s research focuses on the young adult population, and has included studies examining the health outcomes of women with pregnancy complications such as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
